Monday Theatre School - Nikolai Gogol
ALL LEVELS WELCOME.
No experience needed. Classes will be lead by Dimitri Devdariani, a director.
As a result of a fantastic success of the previous acting theatre workshops, we are, once again, inviting you to the continuity of acting workshops’ series. Three consecutive workshops based on the works of celebrated Ukrainian and Russian playwright Nikolai Gogol.
We will be looking at Nikolai Gogol as the precursor of the beginnings of surrealism in both, Russian and Ukrainian cultures. Gogol covered many genres: horror, gothic and folklore. He wrote both in Russia and Ukraine and worked closely with Anton Chekhov as theatre practitioner.
Classes will include speech and movement exercises, improvisation and of course imagination building exercises and games. They will focus on 3 most famous Gogol’s plays:
Marriage, The Government Inspector and The Gamblers. Each play will be studied individually, 1 play per 1 class.
Limited spaces!
Mondays 12th, 19th and 26th September
1 Session £20
Full Course of 3 Sessions £50
