What is it to be British, to celebrate our great empire? I’m struggling to understand how doing just that has me fighting for my job. All I have are the voices in my head to help wade through the mud of a disciplinary minefield. So I need you to come on over and lend me some good old British pluck. It’s just me and those voices for company, but I’ll liven things up with the odd Great War song, just as Grandfather used to, and with a little luck I’ll both save my job and come to understand how celebrating the contribution of our empire could be so wrong.
